I made a quick stop by Mead Garden and headed over to the Mulberry tree in the back. The berries were not completely ripe but some birds were hanging out for a snack. A Catbird. A Cardinal. Nothing special. But I did notice a few Red-bellied Woodpeckers fly in. Common but always fun to watch. This bird was focused on berries that had fallen into the notch of this branch.
Another Red-bellied Woodpecker came in after apparently finishing a berry. I keep thinking this bird looks rather dog-like for some reason.
It smacked its 'lips' and tried to get the remaining bits before heading on.
Not too much else around today but I will be back soon to check for migrants.
