First Baby Owl Out

Late in the day yesterday I was disappointed to only see one owl in the nest. It was getting dark but all I could make out was a single bird. I was worrying that whatever happened last year was happening again. So, I slipped out during a sunnier time today and saw the one bird in the nest still. Then, I was looking around for Mama but, instead, found Herschel out of the nest!



Whew! Just getting too big for the nest, not bad news. Meanwhile, Maggie continues to grow now with a bit more room to move around.



I will try to keep an eye on them an hope one or both stick around in the yard for a while like last year.
