Western Palm Warbler

Since it is getting close to the time last year when the Yellow-headed Blackbird arrived in Orlando (see the post back in the archives for March 2008) I headed to the spot to check on the unlikely return of the bird.

Nope. Not there.

I did find a nice little Palm Warbler there in the nearby oaks, though.

Western Palm Warbler

It was feeding like crazy. In fact, as I exited the van it flew down an caught an insect that was right over my head before returning to the branches.

Western Palm Warbler

It was no doubt foraging for every last bite before heading back north soon.

Western Palm Warbler

We will miss them until next Fall.
